BRAZIL

Drop Inn Ministries began working in Brazil in May of 2005.  Now, we support three church leaders and youth music group in one of the shanty towns of Rio.  In a separate town, we support a ‘Drop-In’ Centre for young people with no hope or future who are being drawn into a lifestyle of gangs, drugs and prostitution.

In the Amazon region of Brazil, we work alongside a missionary couple in Maues.  With them, we support a school that educates over 100 students from the neediest parts of Maues.  We also support the growing church there and their work of evangelism that is leading them into the heart of the Amazon jungle.  Our partners here are planning to build an additional school in another very needy area of Maues.

VENEZUELA

Drop Inn Ministries has a full time missionary working in Venezuela.  Nigel Burrows, originally from Dungannon, Northern Ireland, and his wife, Monica, a native of Venezuela, work in the city of Barquisimeto.  Nigel has been serving in Venezuela for over 10 years and with his wife, works to coordinate various projects on behalf of Drop Inn Ministries.

Our projects here include distribution of food parcels to needy families in different ‘shanty towns’ and 100 hot meals for children every week from the same neighbourhood.  Drop Inn also sponsors a building project in the poorest areas of the city for single parent families.  Drop Inn Venezuela has also been at the forefront of Evangelism seeking to reach the whole city of Barquisimeto with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has distributed some 350,000 pieces of Gospel literature throughout the entire 100 square miles of the city.  Venezuela remains statistically one of the most dangerous countries in the world, where gang warfare and violent crime are the norm.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

In 2010, Iowa born native, Daniel Winn, connected with the Drop Inn family and vision.  Daniel is the lead pastor of Cedar Rapids Family Church, which is a non-denominational church seeking to unite believers and support them in their quest to live for Christ.  Daniel believes every life has a purpose and is full of potential.  His goal is to help individuals discover they are made by God and for God.  He and his wife, Kelly, have four children:  Madigan, Sydney, Samuel and Josie.

The church has partnered with Drop Inn Ministries by opening their first charity shop in Cedar Rapids.  Proceeds from the shop have already made a big impact for our projects in Burkina Faso and various other Drop Inn Ministries projects.  The church is also working toward opening their first youth centre in the northwest area of Cedar Rapids.

HAITI

Haiti is statistically the poorest country in the world.  The 2010 earthquake wrecked utter devastation on this already-struggling nation, and despite the billions of pounds of aid that flooded into the country, much remains to be done.

Drop Inn Ministries has been working inside Haiti alongside a pastor there for 7 years, but in 2010 recommitted themselves to help Haitians rebuild.  It’s a long-term project and has involved huge financial input, but we have succeeded in making a great difference already.  Drop Inn has been involved in the rebuilding of numerous homes destroyed in the quake, as well as the orphanage we partner with that also sustained damage.
